Modern Masters

Internationale Handwerksmesse, Munich, March 11 - 17, 2015

I’ve been invited to exhibit at the special invitational exhibition “Meister der Moderne” part of the annual international jewellery forum (Talente, Schmuck etc) at the Internationale Handwerksmesse in Munich.

“Modern Masters is a special crafts and applied arts presentation; showing works by artists who stand for the aesthetics of our time. Mastership can have many origins: the superior use of material, functional finesse, technical precision, the elegance of form and colour, humour and classic understatement. We would like to demonstrate all this with over 30 well known artists from different countries."

Institute of Making, University College London, March 7, 2015

The Institute of Making is a multidisciplinary research space at UCL combining a Materials Library that showcases extraordinary materials and a Makespace which provides a workshop to explore traditional and advanced tools, techniques and materials. I'll be presenting ongoing research into friction-stir welded laminates as part of their celebration of metals.

Vase, Vessel, Void

Oliver Sears Gallery, Dublin, 4 September 2014 - 2 October 2014

Curated by Brian Kennedy, ‘Vase, Vessel, Void’ explores the evolution of the functional to abstraction through figuration. Kennedy's curation is a response to works that Oliver Sears has either collected or been interested in during the last twenty years. The exhibition will look at the movement from still-life to the functional, and towards abstraction in both fine and applied arts.
